Description

Smoke tarps are used to cover and protect loads on a flatbed truck and trailer. They are often referred to nose tarps because they are frequently used to cover the front of a load. Smoke tarps can be installed as one single tarp that will keep smoke, bugs, and road debris off the cargo or they can be used in conjunction with a steel tarp that is turned sideways to cover boxed shaped loads.

Smoke Tarps are constructed of an 18-ounce vinyl coated polyester fabric that has proven to be the best choice for this style of tarp. This material is assembled using heat sealed seams and the outer edge of the tarp is folded to create a two-ply thickness with a 2" heavy duty polypro webbing installed. The upper corners of the tarp are notched out and sewn creating an 8' wide fitted design. Brass spur grommets are machine punched through this reinforcement webbing about every 24" all the way around the hem. Three rows of D-rings are installed with our traditional 31" spacing to match the design of our 8' drop lumber tarps. These D-rings are spaced no farther than 24" apart, are reinforced with webbing, and are back-stitched with our heavy duty rot resistant polyester thread.
